A skin fade takes the sides and back down to bare skin at the bottom and blends gradually into longer hair on top, with no visible lines between lengths. At Markcutit every fade is booked as a Haircut Only on Booksy and finished with a razor-clean lineup, a hot towel, a hair wash and a head massage at no extra charge.
Styles we cut
- Low skin fade
Starts just above the ear. Clean, conservative, grows out gently. - Mid skin fade
Starts at the temple line. The most requested balance of sharp and wearable. - High skin fade
Starts near the parietal ridge. Maximum contrast with the top. - Drop fade
Curves down behind the ear to follow the head shape. - Bald fade
Taken to the skin with a foil shaver for the cleanest finish.
How to choose between a low, mid and high fade
Choose by how much contrast you want and how often you can come back. A low fade is the most forgiving as it grows out. A high fade reads sharpest on day one but shows growth sooner.
Head shape matters too. A mid fade balances most profiles; a drop fade suits clients who want the fade to follow the curve behind the ear. We talk this through at the start of every appointment.
How long a skin fade stays sharp
A skin fade looks its best for about one to two weeks. Most regulars book every two to three weeks to keep the blend tight; lower fades can stretch a little longer.
