Edgar Cut in Mississauga: Book the Blunt Line and High Fade

Short answer: Yes, Markcutit cuts Edgars at our studio inside Heartland Town Centre. Book it on Booksy as Haircut Only and choose Mark Yousif if you want the high skin fade and razor-sharp front he leans toward. Come in with your hair dry and unstyled so we can see how it falls forward before the line goes in.

Can I get an Edgar at Markcutit?

You can: an Edgar is a Haircut Only booking on Booksy, and the high fade under it runs through our skin fades service. There is no special menu item, so the most useful thing you can do is type "Edgar" in the booking note so the barber plans for the line from the start.

The full breakdown of the cut, its history and the hair it needs is in our Edgar cut guide. This page is about getting one here: who to book, how the appointment runs and when to come back.

Picking Mark or Marcel for your Edgar

Book Mark Yousif if you want the classic high skin fade under a ruler-straight front. Skin fades and razor lineups are the two things his work leans toward, and an Edgar is essentially both of those joined at the forehead.

Book Marcel Shabo if you want the fade to curve behind the ear instead, as a drop or burst version, or if you want the top slightly broken up rather than dead flat. His leanings are drop fades, texture on top and detailing. Either barber cuts every version, so if the Booksy calendar only shows one of them at the time you need, take it.

Show up with your hair the way it actually falls

An Edgar line only works if we cut it where your hair naturally lands, so arrive with the top dry, clean of gel and not combed forward for us. If you style it down with product on the way in, we lose the one thing we need to see: where a cowlick or crown pushes the fringe sideways.

A photo helps more than a description, especially one that shows how high the line sits relative to the eyebrows. If you have worn an Edgar before, tell us where the last line sat and whether you want it higher, lower or the same.

  • Bring: a front-on photo of the line you want, and one of the side if the fade height matters to you.
  • Mention: any bare patch or dip at the front hairline, since the line has to sit below or around it.
  • Skip: a fresh home trim on the fringe. Even a small snip can leave us too little length to cut a clean edge.

What the appointment looks like, start to finish

The appointment follows a fixed order because the fringe line has to be the last hard edge we set. Here is how it goes in our chair:

  1. Consultation with your hair dry: we comb the top forward, watch where it settles and agree on the line height against your brows.
  2. The top is taken to one even length, so every piece lands on the same horizontal.
  3. The fade goes in, high and tight to skin for a traditional Edgar, or curving behind the ear if you asked for a burst.
  4. The fringe line is set with the trimmer and then edged with the razor, followed by the temples and the neckline.
  5. Hot towel, hair wash and head massage, all included, then a last look in the mirror once the hair is dry again.

Booking the Edgar on a two-week loop

Plan on a full visit every two weeks, because the flat front is the first thing to lose its shape. By the second week the fringe starts to break over the line and the fade underneath is blurring at the same time.

The simplest system is to book your next Edgar in Booksy before you leave, same weekday, same barber. We are open until 9 PM every day, including Sunday, so an after-work or after-practice slot is usually realistic. If the line alone looks tired after a week, call or text (647) 221-9795 and ask whether a quick tidy fits before your next full cut.

How an Edgar copes with a Mississauga year

The Edgar is easiest to keep in winter and hardest in July. Humid summer days make straight hair swell and lift at the ends, which breaks up the horizontal line faster, so a little light-hold cream matters more from June to August.

A toque in January is actually on your side, since it presses the top forward and flat, which is exactly where an Edgar wants to sit. After gym or hockey, rinse, towel dry and comb the fringe straight down before it air dries in the wrong direction.

Edgar cut in Mississauga: common questions

Can you fix an Edgar line someone else cut crooked?

Usually, yes, as long as there is enough length above the old line to recut it straight. We may have to set the new line slightly higher, and we will show you where before cutting.

Which Booksy option do I pick if I want my beard done too?

Choose Haircut + Beard. The beard and the Edgar's side fade are then blended in the same sitting.

What should I book if I want to move on from an Edgar?

Keep booking Haircut Only and tell us you are growing out. A French crop at Markcutit is the smoothest next step, since the hair keeps falling forward.
