Four choices to make before you book a mid fade

A mid fade comes out right when four decisions are made before the clippers start. You can settle all of them in the consultation, but thinking them through at home makes the appointment faster and the result closer to your photo. Matching your barber to the top, not the fade

Both barbers cut mid fades all week, so let the top decide. Mark Yousif leans toward skin fades, razor lineups and slick backs; a mid skin fade under a combed or slicked top is squarely his lane, and he is the one to book if the fade has to run into a beard.

Inside the appointment

Your mid fade appointment opens with a mirror check of both temples, since most people recede slightly more on one side and the line has to look level anyway. We set the guideline, build the blend up to the sides, shape the top, and then detail the ears and neckline before a razor lineup.

After the cut you get the part most people remember: a hot towel, a proper hair wash and a head massage, all included with Haircut Only. We finish by styling it and telling you which product we used, so you can repeat it at home.

Rebooking: the two-to-three-week rhythm

A mid fade looks sharp for about two weeks and acceptable for three, so most regulars keep a fixed slot every 14 to 21 days. Skin bottoms and dark, dense hair sit at the short end of that range; half-guard finishes and lighter hair sit at the long end.

Timing a mid fade for convocation and fall photos

For a photo day, book the cut three to five days before, not the morning of. The blend settles, any redness at the neckline is gone, and the fade still looks brand new in pictures. U of T Mississauga holds its fall convocation from October 26 to 30, 2026, so if you are crossing the stage, pick your slot early rather than hoping for a same-day opening that week.
