South of France Haircut in Mississauga: Booking the Trend Cut

Short answer: Markcutit cuts the South of France haircut at our Heartland Town Centre studio: a burst fade around the ears under a textured top pushed forward. Book Haircut Only on Booksy, or send your photo by Instagram DM to @markcutit first if you want a view on whether your hair is ready. Marcel Shabo leans toward this kind of textured top; Mark Yousif toward a skin-short burst.

You can say the trend name at our chair

Ask for the South of France haircut by name and we will know what you mean; there is no need to rehearse barber vocabulary. We still confirm the details against your photo, because the name has no fixed definition and people use it for looks ranging from a near-crop to something close to a mullet.

Our South of France haircut guide breaks the style into its parts and explains where the name came from. In the consultation we simply check those parts on your head: how low the burst sits, how long the back stays and where the fringe lands.

Send the photo before you book

If you are not sure your hair is long enough, message the photo to @markcutit on Instagram before you take a slot. We can tell you whether it is ready now or whether one tidy-up visit, with the top left alone, would be the better next step.

That saves you booking a full cut expecting the trend look and leaving with a stage-one version. It also lets you mention anything the photo does not show, like a cowlick at the front or a double crown, which changes how we cut the fringe.

Which barber, and what each brings

Book Marcel Shabo if the top is what you care about most, and Mark Yousif if you want the burst as sharp as possible. Marcel leans toward texture on top and detailing, which is the point-cut, piecey work this style depends on.

Mark leans toward skin fades and razor lineups, so a burst taken to bare skin just above the ear, with a clean razor edge, suits his chair. Both cut the whole style, and Booksy shows each barber's live openings so you can book whichever fits your week.

Adjusting it for work, school and a trip

The same cut can be dialled up or down, and we set it for where you are wearing it.

  • Office or client-facing work: a lower burst that leaves a little more at the temples, and a fringe cut just short enough to push aside for meetings.
  • Back to school in September: a slightly shorter top that survives a hood and a backpack strap without daily styling.
  • Before a summer trip: book three to five days before you fly, so the burst is fresh but softened in holiday photos. Our page on a haircut before a trip covers timing in more detail.

Keeping the burst fresh without losing the top

Come back about every three weeks for the burst and let the top go longer, reshaping it every second visit. The fade softens first, and a burst that has lost its curve makes the whole cut look like overgrown hair rather than a trend cut.

Tell us at each visit whether the fringe is where you want it. If you are letting it get longer, we only tidy the burst and nape; if it is starting to sit in your eyes, we take it back up to the brows. We are open until 9 PM every day, so an evening slot after class or work is easy to fit in.

How we finish it in the chair

After the cut you get the free hair wash, hot towel treatment and head massage, then we dry the top forward with our fingers rather than a brush, so it keeps its broken texture. A little matte product finishes it.

Ask us to show you the finger-twist at the fringe while we do it. It takes seconds, and seeing it done on your own hair is more useful than any video.

South of France haircut in Mississauga: common questions

Is the South of France cut on the Booksy menu?

Not under that name. Book Haircut Only, which covers any fade, taper or scissor style, and tell us the look at the consultation.

What if my top is not long enough yet?

We set the burst and leave the top completely alone, so you grow into the look. Once the front reaches your brows when pulled down, the full texture goes in.

Can I get the same look with a mullet-length back?

Yes, but then it is closer to a modern mullet; our mullet haircut page covers that booking.
