Is the head massage really included for free?

It is. The massage is part of the finish on Haircut Only, Haircut + Beard, Beard Only + Lineup and both waxing services, together with the hot towel treatment and hair wash. There is no upgrade to choose on Booksy and nothing to ask for at the till.

We include it on every visit rather than selling it separately because the minutes after a precise cut are when most people finally relax, and it gives the appointment a proper end instead of a rush out of the chair.

What it feels like in a Markcutit chair

It starts with your scalp clean and damp from the wash, which is the part most people do not expect. Warm water, then fingertips working firmly through the hair rather than a light scratch, so you feel the scalp move rather than just the hair.

Most clients feel it most at the temples and where the neck meets the skull, the places that tighten after a day at a desk or behind the wheel on the 401. An evening slot for the end of a long day

The massage tends to matter most to people booking after work, and our hours make that easy. We are open 9:30 AM to 9 PM, seven days a week, so a 7 or 8 PM appointment on a weekday, or a Sunday evening before the work week, fits around most schedules.

Which service to book if the massage is what you want

Every service includes it, so book for the cut or beard work you actually need and the massage comes with it. There is no massage-only booking.

• Haircut Only: a fade, taper or scissor cut, then wash, towel and massage.
• Haircut + Beard: the longest finish, since the hot towel also prepares your beard edges.
• Beard Only + Lineup: a good between-cuts visit that still ends with the massage.
• Full Face Wax or Nose Wax: shorter services that include the same finish.

When to ask us to go lighter or skip it

Speak up any time the pressure is not right; we adjust straight away and nobody is offended. Ask us to go lighter, or leave it out, if your scalp is sunburned or irritated, if you have had a hair transplant or scalp treatment and your clinic has said to avoid pressure, or if your neck is sore.

Some people simply prefer to skip it, and that is fine too. The rest of the finish stays the same.

What the barbershop massage is not

It is not registered massage therapy, so it is not the kind of treatment that Ontario health benefit plans cover as RMT, and it does not replace one if you have a real injury.
