Hard Part Haircut in Mississauga: Adding the Shaved Line at Markcutit
Short answer: Yes. A hard part is added during a regular Haircut Only booking at Markcutit in Heartland Town Centre, so there is nothing extra to select on Booksy: just mention it in the booking note or at the consultation. Mark Yousif's razor lineups and Marcel Shabo's detailing both suit the line, and we place it on your natural part before cutting.

The hard part is an add-on to a cut, not its own booking
A hard part is cut as part of the haircut it belongs to, so you book Haircut Only on Booksy, the same as any fade, taper or scissor cut. If the sides are going short, that runs through our skin fades service; if you want longer sides, it is a scissor cut with the line added.
We explain placement, width and how the line grows back in our hard part guide. Here we cover the practical side of getting one at our studio.
Say you want it before we start, not at the mirror
Ask for the hard part at the start of the appointment, because it changes how we cut the top. The side of the part decides which side gets more weight, and where the fade stops has to line up with the end of the line.
If you only decide at the end, we can still add it, but the rest of the cut was not shaped around it. A note in Booksy or one sentence in the consultation avoids that.
- Tell us which side you have been combing it to, and whether that feels natural or forced.
- Say how bold you want it: a thin, quiet line for work or a wider one that clearly reads as a design choice.
- Mention if a previous hard part was placed somewhere that never sat right. We will look for a better spot.
Which barber to book for the line
Both barbers cut hard parts, so book whichever one suits the rest of your haircut. The line is a finishing detail; the fade and top around it are what decide the choice.
Mark Yousif is the natural pick if the part sits over a skin fade or you want the line cleaned right to skin with the razor, since razor lineups and skin fades are what his work leans toward. Marcel Shabo leans toward low and mid tapers and detailing, which suits a softer side part where the line has to stay neat and narrow. You can compare both on the barbers page.
Timing a hard part around events
Get the line cut one or two days before anything with photos, because it looks its sharpest in the first few days and starts to fuzz within the week. A cut a full week early leaves you with a soft, half-grown line on the day.
Mississauga's autumn has a few of those dates. U of T Mississauga's fall convocation runs October 26 to 30, 2026, and Diwali is November 8, 2026. Evening slots fill quickly around both, so book early; we are open until 9 PM every day, which helps if the only free time is after work.
| Occasion | When to book the cut | Line on the day |
|---|---|---|
| Everyday wear | Every 2 to 3 weeks with the fade | Visible, softening |
| Interview or headshot | 1 to 2 days before | Crisp |
| Wedding or convocation | 2 days before, with the beard if you wear one | Crisp, skin settled |
What you will see in our portfolio
The Side-Swept Fade and Full Beard case in our portfolio shows the kind of side-swept shape a hard part is usually added to. Scrolling the full portfolio before you book is a quick way to point at a fade height and part style instead of describing them.
If you have a photo of a hard part you like, bring it. Line width is much easier to agree on from a picture than in millimetres.
When we will suggest leaving the line off
We will say so honestly if a shaved line would work against you. The two common cases are a part that already shows a lot of scalp, and hair that is combed with so much texture that it will cover the line by lunchtime.
In both cases a natural part, set with a comb and a little cream, gives most of the neatness without the exposed strip. It is your call; we just want you to hear it before the trimmer goes in.
Hard part haircut in Mississauga: common questions
Can I add a hard part to a haircut I already booked?
Yes. There is nothing to change in Booksy. Tell the barber at the consultation, or add it to the appointment note, and it becomes part of the same cut.
Can I get only the line recut between haircuts?
Call or text (647) 221-9795 and ask. Often the simplest answer is to bring your next haircut forward a few days, since the fade usually needs it too.
Can a hard part be cut without any fade?
Yes. It works on scissor-cut sides too, as a sharp finish on a classic side part at Markcutit.
Is a hard part a good idea for a first visit?
It is fine on a first visit, since it grows back in a couple of weeks. We just take a little longer in the consultation to find your natural part.
