Frohawk in Mississauga: Booking the Strip, the Fade and the Barber
Short answer: Yes, Markcutit cuts frohawks at our studio in Heartland Town Centre, Mississauga, open 9:30 AM to 9 PM seven days a week. Book Haircut Only on Booksy. Choose Mark Yousif if you want a skin fade under the strip, or Marcel Shabo for a drop fade that curves behind the ear, and come in with at least 5 cm of picked-out hair on top.

The fade under the strip decides which barber to book
A frohawk is really two decisions: the shape of the strip on top and the fade on each side of it. The strip we agree on together at the consultation, but the fade is worth deciding before you book, because it tells you whose chair to choose.
Mark Yousif leans toward skin fades, the high-contrast option that makes the ridge look tallest. Marcel Shabo leans toward drop fades, which follow the curve behind the ear and keep a little more weight at the back. Both cut the full style, so if either time slot suits you better, take it. Our skin fades service shows both kinds of blend.
Before your visit: check your strip at home
Five minutes in front of a mirror the night before saves a lot of back-and-forth in the chair. You are looking for the width you like and whether you have enough length to carry it.
- Pick your top out fully and measure the tallest point with a ruler; about 5 cm is the practical minimum.
- Lay two fingers flat on each side of the centre line to see roughly how wide a strip you want.
- Look at the profile with a hand mirror: do you want it tallest at the front, at the crown or even all the way back?
- Take a photo of the side view to show us.
- Keep the edges product-free on the day so the lineup is clean.
From consultation to razor finish
The appointment opens with the mirror conversation: strip width, profile and fade height. We mark the strip lines first, so you can see the outline and change your mind before any hair comes off the sides.
After the sides are faded up to meet the strip and the top is sculpted, we finish with a razor lineup on your natural hairline and a last pick to check the silhouette. Every visit includes a hot towel, hair wash and head massage. The technique, strip shapes and style background are all in our frohawk guide.
Book the next one before the sides blur
A frohawk depends on the contrast between the strip and the sides, and that contrast is the first thing to go. By about two weeks the faded area has filled in enough that the strip edge starts to soften, and by three it can look like a rounded afro with short sides.
The easiest habit is to rebook on Booksy with the same barber before you leave the studio. A regular slot also means the strip width stays consistent from cut to cut instead of creeping wider each time it is re-marked.
Wearing it under helmets, hats and headphones
Anything that sits on top of the head pushes the ridge flat, and in Mississauga that means hockey helmets, bike helmets on the waterfront trails, and toques from November onward. A quick pick and a pat with your palms after you take the helmet or hat off brings most of the shape back.
Over-ear headphones press the sides more than the strip, but they can flatten the base of the ridge. If you wear them all day at work, a slightly narrower strip holds up better; mention it at the consultation.
Frohawk in Mississauga: common questions
Can I switch from an afro to a frohawk in one visit?
Yes, as long as the top is long enough. We mark the strip, fade the sides and shape what remains; our afro fade page covers the rounder option if you change your mind.
Can I book a frohawk with a beard trim?
Yes. Book Haircut + Beard, and Mark in particular leans toward blending the fade into the beard.
Is a frohawk too bold for an office?
A short, blunt strip over a taper reads as tidy in most workplaces. Tell us your dress code and we will keep the ridge lower.
