Man Bun Undercut in Mississauga: Refresh the Sides, Keep the Length
Short answer: Yes, Markcutit refreshes man bun undercuts at our studio in Heartland Town Centre, Mississauga, and trims the long top without cutting into your bun length. Book Haircut Only on Booksy and arrive with your hair down so we can see the disconnection line. Mark Yousif leans toward skin-fade undercuts; Marcel Shabo toward drop fades and detailing.

Take the tie out before you sit down
We need to see the long hair hanging and the edge of the undercut exposed. With a bun in, the short sides are partly covered, the length is folded, and we cannot judge where the line sits against the tie.
Come in with dry hair down and bring your usual tie. At the end of the cut we will tie the bun with you so we can check that no short hairs from the undercut poke out underneath it. The full picture of growing and wearing a bun is in our man bun guide.
Skin undercut or drop fade: which barber to book
Mark Yousif leans toward skin fades, the sharpest contrast under a bun and the version that looks cleanest when the hair is up. Marcel Shabo leans toward drop fades and detailing, which curve behind the ear and follow the back of the head, a softer look when you wear the hair down.
Both barbers do the whole job, including the scissor work on the long top. See our skin fades service for how bare the sides can go.
Run two rebooking clocks, not one
The undercut and the long hair grow at the same rate but need attention on very different schedules. The short sides lose their edge in a few weeks, while the ends of the long hair only need a trim every couple of months.
A pattern that works well is an undercut refresh at every visit, with the ends added every second or third time. Both are Haircut Only on Booksy; just tell us at the start which one it is.
| Visit | Undercut | Long top |
|---|---|---|
| Refresh visit | Faded or clipped back to your length | Not touched |
| Full visit | Refreshed | Ends trimmed, bulk at the crown thinned |
| Growing phase | Refreshed | Only split ends, no length taken |
Where the undercut line sits under your bun
The undercut line should sit just below where the hair gathers into the tie. Too high, and short sides stick out of the bun; too low, and there is a band of in-between hair visible when the hair is up.
If you wear a top knot some days and a lower bun on others, tell us, because the line has to work for the lowest position you use. We mark it with the hair tied, then let the hair down and check the disconnection again from both sides. If you are still growing toward a full bun and the back cannot reach the tie yet, we can set the line a little lower for now and raise it on a later visit once everything gathers.
Summer, gym bags and hair ties
A bun with an undercut is one of the most practical long styles for a humid Mississauga summer: the sides stay cool and the length is off your neck. The trade-off is that the bare nape shows everything, so in July and August the undercut needs you on the shorter end of that three-to-five-week range.
Keep a couple of fabric ties in your gym bag and switch the bun position day to day. If you notice soreness or thinning at the temples from constant tying, loosen up and see a doctor or dermatologist.
Man bun undercut in Mississauga: common questions
Can I add an undercut to long hair I have been growing for months?
Yes. We section the top away, clip or fade the sides and back underneath, and your bun length stays the same.
Will you wash my long hair?
Yes. A hair wash is included with every service, along with the hot towel and head massage.
What if I decide to cut the bun off?
Tell us at the consultation and we will plan a shorter style; our long hair trim page and undercut page cover the options between.
