Number 1 Haircut in Mississauga: A No. 1 Buzz Finished Properly
Short answer: Markcutit cuts number 1 haircuts at Heartland Town Centre in Mississauga, booked as Haircut Only on Booksy. We can run a No. 1 all over, or fade the sides to skin beneath it; Mark Yousif leans toward skin fades if you want that contrast. A 1 guard leaves about 3 mm, so plan on coming back every two to three weeks.

Why a No. 1 is still worth booking at a barber
Anyone can run a 1 guard over their own head; what you book us for is everything around it. A plain No. 1 goes fuzzy at the ears and nape within days, and a clean outline is what makes it look cut rather than clippered.
In the appointment that means a tapered or skin-faded nape, a razor-clean line around the ears and at the neck, and the hot towel, wash and head massage afterwards. It is booked the same as any other cut, and our skin fades service shows what the faded version looks like.
It also gets a proper check from someone standing behind you. Home clippering almost always leaves a patch at the back of the crown or behind one ear slightly longer, and at 3 mm that difference is easy to spot.
Three ways to wear a number 1
The guard is the starting point, not the whole cut. These are the three versions we are asked for, from plainest to sharpest; our number 1 haircut guide covers the look itself in more depth.
- Straight No. 1 all over, lever closed, with a tapered nape: the classic buzz.
- No. 1 with the lever open, closer to a 1.5: for anyone who finds a true 1 a little bare.
- No. 1 on top with a skin fade on the sides and back: the sharpest option, and the one that needs the most frequent rebook.
We will be straight with you about head shape
At 3 mm the clippers show your head exactly as it is, so the consultation includes an honest look at its shape. A flat spot at the back, a ridge at the crown or an old scar will be visible, and we would rather mention it before the first pass than after.
If something bothers you, a 2 guard softens a surprising amount, and our number 2 haircut page covers that option. The detailed trade-offs are laid out in No. 1 vs No. 2.
A 3 mm cut through an Ontario year
A No. 1 leaves very little between your scalp and the weather, so it changes with the season. In summer the scalp can burn like any exposed skin, so a hat or sunscreen on sunny days is sensible; in January, a toque is not optional.
Some people run a 1 from May to September and move up to a 2 or a 3 for the winter. There is no rule; tell us at the consultation if you are thinking about switching and we will adjust the fade to match.
Keeping the edges sharp between visits
Book every two to three weeks. Hair grows roughly 3 mm a week, so by the end of the first week a No. 1 has about doubled in length, and by the third the outline at the ears and neck has blurred completely.
Very short cuts can leave coarse or curly hair prone to bumps along the neck. Keeping the area clean usually helps; if bumps persist or become painful, see a doctor or dermatologist, and read our page on a barber for sensitive skin.
Number 1 haircut in Mississauga: common questions
Can I get a No. 1 and my beard done in the same visit?
Yes, book Haircut + Beard. Mark leans toward fade-into-beard blends, which makes a short buzz and a beard look like one shape.
Is a No. 1 the same as a skin fade?
No. A No. 1 leaves about 3 mm everywhere; a skin fade takes the bottom of the sides down to bare skin and blends up from there.
Can you go shorter than a 1?
Yes, with a 0.5 guard or the bare clipper blade, or skin on the sides. We do not offer razor head shaves.
Can I book a No. 1 late on a Sunday?
We are open until 9 PM on Sundays, like every other day. Check Booksy for the last openings.
