Barber detailing a taper haircut in a working barbershop

Haircut · Book as “Haircut Only”

Taper Fades & Taper Haircuts in Mississauga

A taper shortens only the hairline at the sideburns and the nape, so the cut looks clean and deliberate while the rest of your length stays intact. It is the right call when you want a sharp outline without the high contrast of a full fade. Tapers are booked as a Haircut Only.

Taper or fade: which should you book?

Book a taper if you want to keep length and grow your hair out, or if your work calls for a softer look. Book a fade if you want the sides noticeably shorter and a sharper contrast.

If you are unsure, book a Haircut Only and decide with your barber in the chair.

How it works

  1. 01

    Consult

We agree on how much length stays and where the taper should sit.

  2. 02

    Taper the edges

Sideburns and neckline are brought down with clippers and detailers.

  3. 03

    Shape the top

Scissor or clipper-over-comb work balances the top with the new outline.

  4. 04

    Finish

Razor lineup, hot towel, wash and head massage.

Questions

Taper Fades: FAQ

How often should I refresh a taper?

Every three to four weeks keeps a taper looking intentional. Because only the edges are short, it grows out gracefully.

Can I get a taper with curly or textured hair?

Yes. Tapers are a great way to keep natural texture on top while cleaning up the outline.
