When to book for Diwali 2026

Book as soon as you know your family's plans, ideally in the last week of October. With Diwali on a Sunday this year, the Saturday before is the day everyone wants, so it fills first.

A cut from Wednesday, November 4 to Friday, November 6 is the better choice. It has a couple of days to settle before the main day, and it still looks sharp if celebrations and visits carry on into the following week.

Getting in before the family visits start

The days leading into Diwali are often full of cleaning, cooking, shopping and relatives arriving. A weeknight appointment keeps the cut out of that rush. We are open until 9 PM every day, so you can come after work without cutting into the evening's preparations.

Heartland Town Centre is busy with shoppers in early November too. If you are picking things up at the stores around us, allow a few extra minutes to park in the surface lots and walk over.

A band collar puts the neckline on show

Kurtas, sherwanis and Nehru-style jackets have a short stand-up collar, or no collar at all, so the back of the neck is visible in a way it is not with a shirt and tie. That makes the neckline and the bottom of the fade more important than usual.

Beard shaping for photos in warm light

Diwali photos are often taken indoors in the evening, under warm lamps and candlelight. Low, warm light softens skin but deepens shadows along the jaw, so a crisp cheek line and a well-defined beard edge help the face keep its shape in pictures.

• Keep your usual beard length; the week of a festival is not the time for a new shape.
• Ask for the moustache to be trimmed clear of the lip if it tends to grow over it.
