Mullet Haircut in Mississauga: Modern Mullets at Heartland Town Centre

Short answer: Markcutit cuts modern mullets at our studio in Heartland Town Centre, with a burst fade or taper around the ears and deliberate length kept at the back. Book Haircut Only on Booksy: Marcel Shabo leans toward the tapers and texture most mullets use, and Mark Yousif toward skin-short sides. Say at the very start that you are growing the back, so nobody tidies away months of length.

Your first mullet visit is different from the rest

The first appointment sets the shape, and every appointment after that protects it. On the first visit we decide where the sides stop, how high the burst or taper goes around the ear, and how much texture to put into the top. Those choices are hard to change quickly once the back has grown, so we spend longer on the consultation.

Later visits are quicker decisions: sides back to where they were, neckline under the length cleaned, ends of the back lightened. If you want the history, the variations and a growth timeline, our modern mullet guide has them; this page is about getting one cut here.

Which of our barbers suits your mullet

Book Marcel Shabo for a softer mullet and Mark Yousif for a louder one. Marcel leans toward low and mid tapers, drop fades and texture on top, which describes the blended, wearable mullet most people ask for now.

Mark leans toward skin fades, so if you want the burst taken right down to skin for maximum contrast against the back, his chair is the obvious choice. Both barbers cut mullets and both do the scissor work on the back themselves, so pick by the sides you want and by whose openings suit your week.

What we touch on each maintenance visit

Rebook every three to four weeks, which is about when a burst loses its curve and the hair over the ear starts to blur the shape. Each visit follows the same short list, and anything not on it stays put unless you ask.

  • Sides: taken back to the same guard and height as last time, so the outline never creeps.
  • The short hair under the length at the nape: cleaned with a trimmer so the back looks chosen, not forgotten.
  • Ends of the back: a few millimetres at most, point cut to keep them light.
  • The top: shaped every second visit, or every visit if you wear it short and textured.

Mullets, hockey and a Canadian winter

The mullet has long had a home in Canadian hockey culture, and it still suits anyone who wears a helmet. Short sides sit comfortably under the padding and the back hangs out below, which is why the look never fully left rinks. If you play, a quick rinse after a game keeps the back from drying flat and stringy.

In January the back also sits against a scarf or a coat collar all day. That friction roughs up the ends, so a light leave-in helps; our haircut aftercare notes cover the basics. If you like the flowing length but not the short sides, our bro flow page is the longer, all-over alternative.

Mullet or wolf cut: deciding in the chair

If you are torn between the two, the deciding question is whether you want short sides. A mullet has them, usually a burst or taper; a wolf cut keeps the sides long and layered into the rest of the shape.

Bring photos of both and we will tell you which one your hair and your current length suit better. Our mullet vs wolf cut comparison lays out the difference, and the wolf cut page covers booking that cut here instead.

Mullet haircut in Mississauga: common questions

Can I start a mullet if the back is still short?

Yes, and starting early is the smart move. We set the burst or taper now and leave the back alone, and within a few months it reads as a mullet rather than a cut that needs doing.

Can I book a mullet appointment after work?

Yes. We are open until 9 PM every day, Sunday included, and you can book on Booksy or call or text (647) 221-9795.

Do you cut mullets on curly hair?

Yes, and curls help the back look full. Tell us your curl type so we plan length after shrinkage; our curly hair barber page explains how we handle curls.
