Most people with longer hair are in one of three situations, and each needs a different plan from the barber. Say which one you are in when you sit down.

Neck taper, undercut or a natural nape

The nape is the one place on long hair where clippers earn their keep, and it matters most if you tie your hair up. A neck taper fades only the lowest strip at the back, so it disappears when your hair is down and looks clean when it is tied.

Why the included wash matters more on long hair

Every service at Markcutit includes a hair wash, and on long hair it does real work: clean hair falls straighter and more evenly, which makes it easier to judge length and see where layers need to sit.
