Low Taper Fade in Mississauga: Book Marcel at Heartland

Short answer: Yes. Low taper fades are one of the cuts Marcel Shabo leans toward at Markcutit, inside Heartland Town Centre in Mississauga. Book Haircut Only on Booksy and pick Marcel, or call or text (647) 221-9795. The one detail to bring is a clear idea of your top, curls, fringe or blowout, because the taper is kept small so the top can do the talking.

Marcel is the barber most low taper clients choose

Low and mid tapers sit at the top of Marcel Shabo's leanings, together with texture on top and detailing, and a low taper needs all of them. The clipper work is small; the craft is in how the taper meets a textured or curly top without leaving a ridge.

His Low Taper Fade & Lineup in our portfolio is the reference most people bring. Mark Yousif cuts low tapers too, and he is a good pick if yours needs to run into a beard. More of Marcel's work is on Marcel's barber page.

Agreeing where the sideburn stops

The main conversation at a low taper appointment is height: how far up the sideburn the blend reaches and how wide the short patch at the nape is. Too high and it becomes a low fade; too low and it looks like a neck clean-up.

We show you in the mirror before we commit, usually with a finger held at the proposed top of the blend. For the difference between a low taper and a low fade in detail, our low taper fade guide is the place to read.

Your natural growth matters here too. A cowlick at the nape or hair that grows sideways behind the ear can pull the taper out of line within days, so we look for both before choosing the height and adjust each side if they differ.

What else happens in the chair

Once the height is agreed, the appointment is mostly scissors. The sides and back are cut to keep their weight, the top is shaped for your curl or fringe, and only then do the clippers come out for the two small blends.

Detailing and a razor lineup finish the edges. Then comes the part included with every service: a hot towel, a hair wash and a head massage, followed by styling so you can see the top the way it will sit the next day.

Four weeks between visits, with one exception

A low taper fade usually looks right for three to four weeks, so most clients book monthly. The sideburns soften first, then the nape, but because the sides were never short, the outline stays neat.

The exception is a skin finish on dark, dense hair, where stubble at the edges shows by week two. If that is you, either book every two to three weeks or ask for a half guard at the bottom. Our skin taper page covers the shorter cycle if you want bare skin every time.

Between visits, avoid shaving the neckline yourself. A home razor usually lifts the line higher than we set it, and the next taper then has to start higher to hide it, which slowly turns your low taper into something closer to a mid.

Students, grads and the back-to-school rush

The low taper is a favourite with students, so school dates are worth planning around. Ontario classes start the Tuesday after Labour Day, and U of T Mississauga's fall convocation runs October 26 to 30, 2026.

If your date is fixed, book a week or two ahead and aim for a cut three to five days before the event. Our back-to-school haircut page has more on timing a fresh cut around the first week of class.

Low taper fade in Mississauga: common questions

Can I get a low taper fade with a blowout on top here?

Yes. Book Haircut Only and mention the blowout; our blowout taper page explains how that appointment runs.

Can I book Marcel for a low taper at night?

Yes, when he has openings. We cut until 9 PM seven days a week, and Booksy shows his live evening slots.

My last low taper grew in uneven. What should I tell you?

Show us where it went wrong at the consultation; uneven regrowth is usually a height or cowlick issue we can plan around.
