Barber for grey hair in Mississauga: sharp salt and pepper cuts
Short answer: Yes. Markcutit cuts grey and salt and pepper hair at Heartland Town Centre in Mississauga, with soft tapers that keep the silver on show, crisp edges and ear, brow and neckline detail. Colour is not on our menu, so the work is all shape. Book Haircut Only, or Haircut + Beard if your beard is greying too, on Booksy or by calling or texting (647) 221-9795.

Grey hair is cut here, not coloured
We do not offer colour, toning or grey blending, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we do is cut grey hair so it looks deliberate: short, tidy sides, a textured top of the right length, and edges clean enough that the silver reads as sharp rather than faded.
If you have been colouring and want to stop, we can help you get through the grow-out with shorter cuts that remove the dyed ends sooner. Our guide to haircuts for grey hair covers the styles and why grey strands behave differently.
Taper or fade when the sides are silver?
Grey usually shows first at the temples and above the ears, so the side choice decides how much silver you keep. A low or mid taper leaves a soft band of it framing the face, which most people with good grey want to show off.
A skin fade takes that band away and puts the attention on the darker hair on top. It can look very sharp on mixed salt and pepper, less so on fully white hair, where it tends to leave the head looking bare. Marcel Shabo leans toward low and mid tapers; Mark Yousif leans toward skin fades. Book our taper fade service if you want the silver kept.
The detail work in a grey-hair appointment
Stray silver hairs catch the light far more than dark ones, so the finishing details matter more than the cut length. We check these on every grey client.
- The neckline, cleaned and tapered so grey fuzz does not creep down the neck.
- Around the ears, where coarse grey hair grows faster and makes a cut look overdue.
- Eyebrows: a few long silver hairs trimmed, the natural shape left alone.
- Nose hair, handled with our Nose Wax service if you want it gone rather than trimmed.
- Cheeks and ears, covered by Full Face Wax if fine grey hair there bothers you.
Matching a greying beard in the same visit
Beards often grey faster than the hair on top, commonly starting at the chin, and a long grey beard tends to look wiry next to a fresh cut. Booking Haircut + Beard lets us set both at lengths that look like one style.
Mark Yousif leans toward fade-into-beard blends, which join a tapered side into a greying beard without a hard line. For a beard-first visit, see our page on a grey beard trim in Mississauga.
How often to book with silver hair
Grey hair does not grow faster than any other colour, but flyaways and a fuzzy neckline show up sooner because they reflect the light. Most people with salt and pepper hair look best on a three to four week rhythm rather than stretching to six.
Every appointment ends with the included hair wash, hot towel and head massage. At home, a matte cream keeps wiry grey controlled, and shiny products tend to make silver look flat and greasy.
Barber for grey hair in Mississauga: common questions
Can you take the yellow tone out of my grey hair?
Toning is not something we offer. A purple-toned shampoo used about once a week at home helps many people; our guide to caring for grey hair explains how.
Is grey hair cut any differently?
The technique is the same, but we usually keep the top a little shorter and texture it more, because grey strands tend to be wirier and stick out at longer lengths.
Which barber should I book for grey hair?
Either. Marcel if you want a soft taper that keeps the silver, Mark if you want a sharper skin fade or a beard blended into the sides.
I am only partly grey. Should I wait before changing my cut?
No need. Shorter, tidier sides make scattered grey look intentional at any stage, and you can adjust as more comes in.
