Curtain Haircut in Mississauga: A Scissor Cut With a Barber's Finish
Short answer: Yes, Markcutit cuts curtain haircuts at our Heartland Town Centre studio as a scissor cut, booked under Haircut Only on Booksy with Mark Yousif or Marcel Shabo. Come in with your hair parted the way you normally wear it and the front at eyebrow length or longer. If you are still growing it, we can tidy the sides and neck while leaving the front untouched.

Can a barbershop cut curtains well?
It can, and at Markcutit curtains are a regular part of our scissor work rather than something we send elsewhere. The front is shaped entirely with scissors, which is the same skill behind every longer cut on our menu; our scissor cuts service page explains how that booking works.
What a barbershop adds is the finish around the edges. A soft taper at the neck and a clean line around the ears keep longer hair looking cared for rather than simply grown, and the razor lineup at the end is standard with every cut we do. If you still need the full picture of lengths and hair types, read our curtain haircut guide first.
Two kinds of curtain appointment
Tell us at the start which kind of visit this is, because the two look nothing alike. A growing visit is about restraint; a shaping visit is where the curtain actually gets cut.
- Growing visit: the front is not long enough yet, so we keep the sides, ears and neckline neat and do not touch the front at all. Say "leave the front" clearly; it is the most important sentence of the appointment.
- Shaping visit: the front reaches at least the brows. We cut the curtain with your part in place, take weight out of the ends and set the taper underneath.
- Maintenance visit: the shape is established, so we dust the ends of the front, refresh the neck and check that the part still falls cleanly.
Marcel or Mark for a curtain haircut
Either barber cuts curtains, and both do the scissor work themselves. Marcel Shabo leans toward low tapers and texture on top, which matches the soft sides and light, moving ends that most curtain styles need. You can see more of his work on Marcel's profile.
Mark Yousif leans toward razor lineups and sharp finishing, so if you like your longer hair framed by a very crisp edge at the neck and around the ears, he is a good fit. Booksy lets you pick either by name and shows their live openings.
Arrive with your part as you wear it
Come in with your hair parted the way it sits on a normal day, and skip the cap on the drive over. A hat pushes the front flat and hides where the part wants to fall, which is exactly what we need to see before cutting.
Light product is fine, but avoid anything heavy that glues the front in place. We wash your hair as part of every service, so we will also see it clean and damp, which shows us how much natural lift your roots have at the part.
Rebooking curtains: longer gaps than most cuts
Curtains can go longer between visits than a fade can, because the front is meant to be long and a few extra millimetres rarely spoil it. What gives a grown-out curtain away is the neck and the hair above the ears, so those set the schedule: roughly every four weeks for the edges, and every six to eight for the front itself.
Before a wedding, a grad ceremony in late June or a set of photos, book about a week ahead. A freshly cut front can sit a little heavy for a few days, and a week lets the ends soften into their natural swing.
Curtain haircut in Mississauga: common questions
Can I bring a 90s photo as a reference?
Please do. We will point out which parts are length and which are styling, and tell you how close your hair can get today.
Will you thin out the front?
Only lightly. Taking too much weight out makes the ends see-through and stops the curtain falling away from the part, so we remove bulk from inside rather than from the edges.
What if I decide curtains are not for me?
We can turn them into a textured crop or a swept-back medium style in a single visit, depending on how much length you want to keep.
