Erindale to Heartland: roughly ten minutes north

Erindale stretches along Dundas St W on the east side of the Credit River valley, home to the University of Toronto Mississauga campus, Erindale Park and Erindale GO. The studio is north of all of it, on the Matheson Blvd W edge of Heartland Town Centre.

It is a drive rather than a walk, and nobody in Erindale should expect it to feel local. What it offers instead is a late close, two barbers you can book by name and a hot towel, wash and head massage included at no charge.

The drive via Rathburn Rd W and Mavis Rd

Erindale GO sits at 1320 Rathburn Rd W, which makes Rathburn the natural starting road. Follow Rathburn Rd W to Mavis Rd and turn north.

Mavis carries you over Hwy 403 and past Eglinton and Bristol to Matheson Blvd. Turn east onto Matheson Blvd W and head toward McLaughlin Rd; the studio is at 650 Matheson Blvd W, which Home Depot and Winners also use. From the UTM campus or the Dundas St W end of Erindale, add a few minutes to reach Rathburn first.

Timing a cut for UTM convocation

U of T's fall 2026 convocation runs October 26 to 30, and the ceremonies are held at Convocation Hall on the St. George campus downtown, not at UTM. Leave room for the drive into Toronto on the day, so it makes sense to have the cut a day or two before.

A cut two or three days out gives the lineup time to settle and the fade time to soften slightly, which photographs better than a same-morning cut. Spring 2026 ceremonies ran in June; the 2027 dates are not published yet.

1. Check your ceremony date on the U of T convocation page.
2. Book on Booksy for one to three days before, choosing Mark or Marcel.
3. Bring a photo of the style you want for the gown and cap photos.
4. If plans shift, move the booking in Booksy or by text as early as possible.

Getting there without a car

Transit from Erindale takes some planning. Erindale GO is on the Milton line, which does not come near Heartland, so the train is not the answer here.

If you can get to Mavis Rd, the MiWay 61 Mavis runs up Mavis and stops at Matheson Blvd, and the walk east along Matheson brings you to the studio. The MiWay trip planner will show the best connection from campus or from your street.
