Markcutit · 650 Matheson Blvd W, Mississauga, ON L5R 3T2
Barber near Applewood: About 14 Minutes North, and When It's Worth It
Short answer: Markcutit is about 10 km from Applewood, inside Heartland Town Centre at 650 Matheson Blvd W, and roughly a 14-minute drive in free-flowing traffic via Dixie Road and Matheson Blvd E. That is further than the barbers on your own streets, and we won't pretend otherwise. Applewood clients come for a particular barber, our 9 PM close seven days a week, or a cut paired with a Heartland shopping run.

Is 14 minutes a reasonable trip for a haircut?
For a quick tidy-up, probably not; a shop near home will do. For a cut you want done a particular way, by a barber whose work you have seen, many people happily drive further than this.
The honest test is whether you would be heading north anyway. If you work in the Matheson or 401 employment lands, or you do your big shop at Costco or Walmart, the studio is already on your way.
Where in Applewood you start matters
Applewood covers the area from Burnhamthorpe Road down to the QEW, between Cawthra Road and Etobicoke Creek, so the drive from one end is quite different from the other.
Applewood Heights, which began building out near Tomken Road in 1955, and Applewood Hills lie north of the Dixie Industrial Area, closer to the Burnhamthorpe end. Applewood Acres, south of The Queensway and cut off from the other two by that industrial strip, adds a few minutes more before you even reach Burnhamthorpe.
The route north, road by road
There is no highway on the plain route, just two long city roads.
- Get onto Dixie Road and head north across Burnhamthorpe, passing Rockwood Mall on the corner.
- Keep going north past Eglinton Avenue to Matheson Blvd E and turn left.
- Follow Matheson west across Hurontario Street, where it becomes Matheson Blvd W.
- Continue toward McLaughlin Rd; the studio is on the Matheson side of Heartland Town Centre, and the visit page has the pin.
Four reasons Applewood clients make the drive
When someone from south-east Mississauga books with us, it is usually for one of these.
- A specific barber. Booksy lets you pick Mark, who leans toward skin fades, beard blends and razor lineups, or Marcel, who leans toward tapers, drop fades and texture.
- Hours that match your week: 9:30 AM to 9 PM, Monday through Sunday.
- Beard work done properly. Our beard barber page explains how we shape a beard to the jaw rather than just shortening it.
- The free finish of a hot towel, hair wash and head massage, included with every service.
Booking so the drive is not wasted
Because the trip is longer, book a fixed time rather than hoping for an opening. Booksy shows live availability for both barbers, and if you prefer to reserve on your phone, our guide to booking a barber online walks through it.
If Dixie is slow and you are going to be late, text (647) 221-9795 before your slot rather than after. Rescheduling in Booksy early keeps the chair open for someone else and makes it easier to find you a new time.
Barber near Applewood: common questions
Is there a Markcutit closer to Applewood?
No. We have a single studio, inside Heartland Town Centre; our Heartland page shows where it sits in the centre.
Should I take the QEW or the 403 instead of Dixie?
Dixie Road north to Matheson is the straightforward route from Applewood and keeps you off the highways. If you do use a highway, you still finish on Matheson Blvd W.
What should I book for a haircut and a beard tidy together?
Book Haircut + Beard on Booksy. It covers the cut, beard shaping and the lineup in one visit, with the hot towel, wash and head massage at the end.
