Mid Fade With Texture: Mark Yousif's Cut and Full Beard

Short answer: This mid fade with texture by Mark Yousif keeps a few centimetres of choppy, textured hair on top, brushed up at the front, over sides taken to skin at the bottom and blended to full length about halfway up. The temple is squared and a full, rounded beard is faded into the sideburn. It suits thick or wavy hair, glasses wearers and anyone who wants a cut that looks styled.

What you can see in this right profile

The top is a few centimetres long, with a rough, choppy texture that lifts at the front into a soft ridge. There are silver hairs scattered through it, which the texture helps blend in.

The sides are bare at the bottom around the ear and behind it, and the fade darkens to full length about halfway up the side, which places it at mid height. The temple is lined into a squared corner.

The beard and the glasses

The beard is full, dense and rounded at the chin, with a moustache connected. At the sideburn, it fades down toward the skin of the haircut before building back into the beard on the cheek.

The glasses in the photo show a practical detail: the arms sit across the faded area above the ear. With a mid fade that area is very short, so the arms do not push hair out of place, and the frames sit flat.

What texture means on top

Texture here means the top has been cut so the hair breaks into pieces instead of lying as one smooth mass. It is usually done with point-cutting or a texturizing technique that shortens some strands more than others.

That broken finish makes thick hair look lighter, disguises grey, and gives product something to grip. Our mid fade guide covers the fade itself; our quiff guide shows the same lifted front taken taller.

How a mid fade with texture is cut

The mid fade is set at the parietal ridge line, halfway up the side, and the texture on top is added once the length is set.

  1. Cut the top to length with scissors, a little longer at the front.
  2. Set the fade line at mid height and take the bottom to skin.
  3. Blend up to the guideline and into the top.
  4. Point-cut the top to create texture and lift at the front.
  5. Square the temple, fade the beard up the sideburn and line the cheek and neck.

Who it suits and upkeep

It suits thick or wavy hair, round and oval faces, and anyone who wears glasses daily. The mid height leaves enough hair to balance a full beard without the extreme contrast of a high fade.

Rebook every 2 to 3 weeks for the fade and beard. At home, rough-dry the top, then push a small amount of matte clay up at the front with your fingertips.

Mid fade with texture: common questions

Is a mid fade good if I wear glasses?

Yes. The arms sit on short, faded hair above the ear, so they do not flatten or push longer hair out.

Can I book Mark for a mid fade in Mississauga?

Yes. Pick Mark on Booksy; the mid fade page for Mississauga explains that appointment.

Will texturizing make my hair thinner?

It removes bulk, not density at the scalp, so thick hair looks lighter without showing more skin.
