How to keep your beard sharp between barber visits

Short answer: Wash and condition your beard a few times a week, brush it into shape daily, trim only the stray hairs that break your outline, and leave the cheek and neck lines to your barber. Book a lineup every one to two weeks to keep the edges crisp.
Wash and condition it properly
Beard hair is coarser than scalp hair and the skin underneath dries out quickly. Use a gentle cleanser a few times a week rather than daily, and follow with a conditioner or beard oil to keep it soft and reduce itch.
Brush it every day
A daily brush trains the hair to grow in the direction you want and makes the shape your barber set last longer. Brush downward and slightly outward.
Trim the strays, not the lines
At home, only snip individual hairs that stick out past the shape. Avoid moving the neckline or cheek line. A few millimetres too high and the beard looks smaller and the jaw weaker, and it takes weeks to grow back.
- Keep the moustache trimmed clear of the lip.
- Use small scissors for strays rather than clippers.
- If a line is lost, book a Beard Only + Lineup rather than fixing it yourself.
When to see your barber
Every one to two weeks for a lineup, and with every haircut for a full Haircut + Beard so the fade and the beard stay blended as one shape.
